Criteria to choose best steel fitting

The fittings are the necessary component that helps in changing the direction of the flow such as elbows, tees, etc. The fittings are the detachable piece of pipes or tubes that may connect the other pipes and tubes. It may change the size of the pipe such as reducers, reducing tees, etc. The fittings will connect different components such as couplings and stop the flows such as Caps.

When it comes to choosing a steel fitting, your primary options are stainless steel or carbon steel. Carbon steel
contains anywhere from 0.04% to 1.50% carbon. Stainless steel is a metal alloy containing iron and must contain
at least 10.5% chromium. Generally, there are different types of pipe fitting used in piping. The main fitting components
used in piping work are Elbow, Tee, Reducer, Union, Coupling, Cross, Cap, Swage Nipple, Plug, Bush, Expansion Joint,
Adapters, Olet ( Weldolet, Sockolet, Elbolet, Thredolet, Nipolet, Letrolet, Sweepolet), Stream Traps, Long Radius Bend,
Flanges and Valves, etc. The standard fittings are either forging or wrought. Only the seamless pipes are used to wrought
fittings.

Buttweld pipe fittings comprise of long radius elbow, concentric reducer, eccentric reducers, and Tees, etc.
Buttweld stainless steel and carbon steel fittings are an important part of the industrial piping system to change
direction, branch off or to mechanically join equipment to the system. Buttweld fittings are sold in nominal pipe sizes
with a specified pipe schedule. Butt-welded Pipe fittings such as carbon steel and stainless steel offer many advantages
compared to threaded and socket weld fittings.

A butt weld pipe fitting is designed to be welded on-site at its end(s) to connect pipe(s) together and allow a change
in direction or pipe diameter, or branching or ending. This fitting then becomes part of a system for transporting fluids
(oil, gas, steam, chemicals, …) in a safe and efficient manner, over short or long distances. Other types of fittings
can be threaded or socket welded.

Fittings are used wherever liquids, gases, chemicals, and other fluids are created, processed, transported, or used.
Fittings are sometimes thicker than their connecting pipes to meet performance requirements or due to manufacturing
reasons. Due to fitting geometry, stress is very different when compared to a pipe. Using extra material is often necessary
to compensate for such additional stress, especially for tees and tight curve elbows. Fitting manufacturers may not
always stock plates or pipes for all metal grades or sizes. When responding to an order, manufacturers always use
the right metal or alloy but sometimes made with a next-higher available plate or pipe size while still respecting
specified inside diameters.

To reach the best performance ( resistance to various types of corrosive fluids, operating temperature ) at acceptable costs,
many metals have found unique niche applications in fittings.
We Global International offers these fittings in a variety of materials, such as copper, cast iron, brass, galvanized,
PVC and stainless steel. We also provide a wide selection of connection types including threaded, sweat, compression,
flare, progress, etc.
